Today, GERACON Peace and Human Rights Foundation joins the global community in commemorating the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and Its Abolition.

This day calls upon humanity to remember the millions of people who were subjected to the transatlantic slave trade and other systems of enslavement, whose lives, families, cultures, freedom, and dignity were violently disrupted.

Remembrance is not about reopening the wounds of history; it is about refusing to forget the lessons history has given us. By confronting the injustices of the past, we strengthen our resolve to challenge racism, discrimination, exploitation, trafficking, forced labor, and every system that treats human beings as commodities.

At GERACON Peace and Human Rights Foundation, we believe that every human being possesses inherent dignity and fundamental rights. No person should be dehumanized because of their identity, origin, color, culture, status, or circumstances.

We therefore call on governments, communities, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and individuals to preserve historical memory, educate future generations, promote equality, and build societies founded upon human dignity, justice, inclusion, and peace.
