WALKING THE PATH OF PEACE AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
I was privileged to spend time with the Obiwurunotu Women’s Wing, Uba Ogugu, Ifakala, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State—my home community—as part of my continuing journey toward peacebuilding, human rights, community development, and the building of a better society.
Being among the women of my community was more than a visit; it was an opportunity to listen, connect, learn, and appreciate the vital role women play in strengthening families, communities, and society.
I believe that sustainable peace begins from the grassroots. When communities come together with a shared commitment to dialogue, inclusion, compassion, justice, and development, we create the foundation for a peaceful and prosperous future.
My journey is therefore not simply about speaking about peace—it is about walking with the people, understanding their realities, and contributing meaningfully to solutions that transform communities.
From Ifakala to Mbaitoli, and from our communities to the wider society, the journey continues.
Peace is a journey. Development is a responsibility. And community transformation begins with us.
